LEEDS, July 13, 2025 Patrick Bamford has identified Crysencio Summerville as Leeds United’s most impressive player during pre-season, praising the winger’s form as “flying ahead of the new Championship campaign.
In an interview with LUTV, Bamford was quick to single out Summerville, noting the Dutchman’s sharpness and goal-scoring impact early in the summer schedule. With two goals already and lively performances in friendly matches, Summerville has emerged as one of the club’s most exciting prospects heading into the 2025–26 season.
Cry’s come back in great shape, Bamford said. “He’s looked lively, confident, and has already found the net a couple of times. He’s definitely leading the way at the moment.
Summerville, known for his explosive pace and dribbling, delivered a particularly eye-catching display against Villarreal, causing constant problems for defenders. His form hasn’t gone unnoticed by teammates or fans, and Bamford believes the winger is ready to hit another level.
He’s playing with real belief, Bamford added. “You can see he’s full of energy and looking to make things happen every time he gets the ball. He’s flying, simple as that.
The 22-year-old was a key figure for Leeds last season and continues to be linked with Premier League interest. However, the club remains determined to keep hold of him, viewing Summerville as central to their promotion push under manager Daniel Farke.
With pre-season in full swing, Leeds supporters will be encouraged by the positive form shown by several first-team players. But it’s Summerville who has, so far, made the biggest impression both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Leeds United will resume their pre-season fixtures next week, with Summerville expected to play a key role once again as the squad fine-tunes preparations for the season ahead.
