Anti-Trump GOP Duo Reignites Political Firestorm:

Former Congressman Adam Kinzinger Launches 2028 Senate Campaign, Vows to Champion Liz Cheney’s Conservative Resistance and Restore Integrity to the Republican Party

In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the Republican establishment, former Congressman Adam Kinzinger has officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2028. Known for his outspoken criticism of Donald Trump and his role on the House January 6th Committee, Kinzinger now steps back into the political spotlight with a campaign centered on reclaiming the soul of the GOP  and he’s not doing it alone.

Kinzinger made his announcement at a packed town hall in his home state, declaring, This campaign isn’t just about one seat  it’s about saving a party and a country from extremism, corruption, and cowardice. The former Illinois congressman emphasized his support for former Rep. Liz Cheney, another key Republican dissenter who defied party leadership in the aftermath of the Capitol riots.

“I stand shoulder to shoulder with Liz, Kinzinger told supporters. “Her fight is my fight. We may have lost our primaries, but we never lost our principles.

The campaign launch marks a renewed alliance between two of the GOP’s most high-profile anti-Trump voices. While Cheney has yet to confirm whether she’ll seek office again, insiders say the two have been quietly coordinating their post-Trump Republican strategy — one rooted in constitutional conservatism, traditional values, and a rejection of what they call the party’s “authoritarian drift.

Kinzinger’s Senate bid is already drawing praise from moderates and independents who see him as a rare Republican willing to challenge Trump’s lingering influence. However, critics within the GOP establishment and pro-Trump base have labeled the move as “attention-seeking” and “doomed, suggesting Kinzinger no longer represents the will of Republican voters.

Despite the backlash, Kinzinger appears undeterred. “This isn’t about being liked  it’s about doing what’s right,” he said.

With his campaign focused on restoring integrity, accountability, and a fact-based approach to governance, Kinzinger is poised to become a polarizing but pivotal figure in the 2028 election. As the GOP continues to grapple with its identity, the renewed partnership of Kinzinger and Cheney signals that the battle for the future of the Republican Party is far from over.
