Excitement is building along Florida’s Space Coast as Carnival Cruise Line officially announced that a brand-new cruise ship will be homeporting at Port Canaveral starting in 2026. The ship, part of Carnival’s next-generation fleet, is expected to bring state-of-the-art amenities, expanded itineraries, and a significant boost to the region’s tourism economy.
The new vessel—whose name will be unveiled later this year—is currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland and is scheduled to begin sailing from Port Canaveral in fall 2026. It will be the latest addition to Carnival’s Excel-class ships, joining the ranks of *Mardi Gras*, *Carnival Celebration*, and *Carnival Jubilee*, which have already made waves with their innovative design and onboard attractions.

The new ship is expected to sail a variety of Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, ranging from five to eight nights. Ports of call will likely include Cozumel, Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and San Juan, with exact itineraries to be released in early 2025 when bookings open to the public.

Carnival’s new vessel will feature cutting-edge environmental technology, including LNG (liquefied natural gas) propulsion, which significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional marine fuel. The ship will also include fan-favorite onboard experiences such as the Bolt roller coaster at sea, an expanded water park, immersive dining venues, and interactive entertainment zones for all ages.
